So the website was down for a few weeks. Apparently some jihad piece of crap hijacked my site and a couple peoples computers blew up. But dont worry, we caught the bastard and everything is back to normal. Take a deep breath, time for an update.
So the past few weeks have been quite interesting. After a couple weeks off of racing we headed back to Los Banos for another round of the Top Gun series. I grabbed a third place start in the Main and after cleanly passing my brother, he thought it would be cool to punt me over a berm and send me back to last. I guess he thought that if he did that he might have a chance to beat me…..wrong. I caught back up and got 3rd, passing the squid along the way. We actually kind of had a blow out after the race and he said he did it because of how much I make fun of him for playing Warcraft. We eventually made up and I agreed to lay off the Warcraft jokes. With that being said, Warcraft is the gayest thing on planet earth and anyone who plays it is a total queer……except Vincent
The next week I headed up to Portland for the 43rd anniversary Thursday Night Motocross. Last year I won the race and I really wanted to win it again. I felt a little off all night but still felt I could get it done in the Main. I rode my ass off but had a major issue with my goggles. I got roosted pretty bad on the 2nd lap and a bunch of dirt got in my eyes. I couldn’t see shit the entire moto but still rode to a 3rd place finish behind Bobby Bonds and Jeff Alessi. Not too pumped. But the trip was fun and the promoter Rick Wylder took care of us. By far the coolest race of the year. Cant wait to go back next year and get my title back.
Following Portland I headed down to LA for the X Games. I only had 1 day of Supercross prep before I left but I figured hey its just the most dangerous track in the world I will be fine. Well I rode like crap. I ended up getting 9th in the Main which looks good on paper but I rode horrible. I was honestly a little sketched out the entire time and tried to do the best I could while riding very cautious. The track was gnarly and the start was insane. We headed straight down the parastyle into a big ass freestyle triple. The track was built pretty good but they never really got enough water on it. The main was a dustbowl. I just got my check from the race and I am so pumped!!!! $1000 for 9th place. Wow I sure am making a killing. With that said, I wonder if McDonalds is hiring…….I would like to start making more money.
After the races were over, Rory and I drove straight home and made it in around 3am. I took a shower and headed to the airport. I got a 1 race deal in Canada for the Leading Edge Kawasaki team and was pretty excited to get up their and race a 250 again. I have not ridden a 250 in awhile and actually have never ridden a KX before. I was super tired when I got there and to tell you the truth I never really recovered in time for the race. I spent about 20 minutes on the bike Saturday to get used to it and felt pretty decent heading into Sunday. The motor was insane. Frenchie at C4MX does my motors here at home and he also does the teams bikes in Canada. The motor was probably as fast as my 450. The suspension was OK. We got it dialed in pretty decent but it still felt way different then my stuff at home. Anyways, I ended up going 6-8 for 7th overall. I was not too happy with my results but with the situation it wasn’t that bad. If I had time to prepare and had the bike all dialed in for me I could easily be a top 3 guy. But the trip was fun and I am glad I went up there and raced. A special thanks to Rick and Sandra for the help and hospitalilty. Seriously some of the best people I have ever met.
Last weekend I headed back to Los Banos again. It felt good to be back on the 450. I won my heat and felt pretty confident going into the Main. I grabbed a big old fatty hole shot but in the 4th corner I flew over the berm. Just my luck…..rear brake line out. I tried to ride the rest of the moto without brakes but only made it about half way and crashed. I ended up last and very pissed off. Its been like 4 days and I am still heated. It is one thing to make a mistake on your own and lose a bunch of money, but when your bike breaks its ten times worse. I went home, beat Maggies ass, and went to bed.
